About Us
Qubitcore Inc. is a deep tech startup originating from the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) and founded in 2024. We are developing and delivering next-generation ion trap quantum computers designed to tackle problems that are computationally intensive for classical systems-such as drug discovery, climate modeling, financial simulations, and generative AI. Our mission is to bring quantum computing into real-world applications with greater speed and precision.
Our distributed architecture connects multiple quantum processing units (QPUs) via photonic links to form a high-performance, networked quantum system. This approach enables large-scale quantum computation that was previously impractical, opening new frontiers in quantum technology.Currently, our team consists of 3-5 members (including part-time collaborators), working closely with OIST to realize Japan's first distributed quantum computer.
