The Institute for Physical Research (IPR) invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in Experimental Optics. We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and well-qualified scientist to join our team in a collaborative, stimulating, and friendly research environment.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will become a key member of the Quantum Optics group, led by Dr. Mikayel Khanbekyan. The group focuses on cutting-edge research in hot atomic vapor spectroscopy, including applications in sensing and fundamental quantum physics. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to experimental advancements in these areas, working alongside leading researchers and institutions.
Collaborative OpportunitiesThis position offers access to a rich collaborative network, including Prof. Sarkisyan and Prof. Papoyan’s research groups at IPR, Prof. R. Löw at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, Prof. D. Budker at the University of Mainz, Germany.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or a related STEM field (or completion of Ph.D. requirements before the appointment starts).
Expertise in experimental techniques, particularly in Atomic Physics, Laser Physics, Optics, Quantum Optics, or Materials Science.
A strong publication record demonstrating scientific achievements.
Proficiency in written and oral communication, as demonstrated by publications, research proposals, and technical presentations.
Capability to conduct independent research while contributing to collaborative projects.
Location: IPR is located in Ashtarak, Armenia, approximately 18 km from Yerevan, the vibrant capital city of Armenia.
Duration: Initial appointment for 2 years, with the possibility of a 2-year extension based on performance.
