kiutra
Do you want to shape the future as part of a diverse, international team in a fast-growing, deep-tech company? Then read on!
At kiutra, we contribute to the development and application of quantum technologies by offering innovative and sustainable cooling solutions based on our unique magnetic cooling technology.
To support our growing R&D activities, we are looking for a CAD Engineer (f/m/d) who is eager to contribute hands-on to the development of advanced cryogenic infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- You support and own the construction and maintenance of product designs in CAD, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and readiness for manufacturing across all development stages.
- You design and develop new components and assemblies in close collaboration with a highly technical engineering team, contributing actively to technical solution finding.
- You evaluate components, assemblies, and designs with regard to defects, tolerances, and manufacturability, proactively identifying improvement opportunities.
- You create, review, and maintain technical drawings and associated documentation to support production, procurement, and assembly.
- You support the transition from prototype to series production, including iteration of CAD models based on test results, manufacturing feedback, and design reviews.
- You assemble prototypes and pre-series hardware hands-on, bringing first-hand insight into the buildability and practicality of your designs.
- You conduct and support testing of components and assemblies, closing the loop between design intent and real-world performance.
- You collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and procurement to ensure designs meet technical, quality, and operational requirements.
Requirements
- You are a state-certified technician or have a degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
- You are proficient in a professional CAD tool; experience with Onshape specifically is a plus.
- You work in a structured and self-driven way, take ownership of your tasks, and are motivated to grow into independent design work within a technically demanding environment.
- You communicate fluently in English; German is a plus.
- Ideally you have already gained hands-on experience assembling hardware — you are comfortable on the bench, not just at the screen.
- Ideally you have already gained hands-on experience testing components and assemblies, and can translate test results into design improvements.
- Knowledge in prototyping and design for manufacturability is a plus; experience with tolerance analysis is a further plus.
Benefits
- You will enjoy flexibility with options for remote work and flexible working hours
- You will experience an open-minded, appreciative startup atmosphere with flat hierarchies and an open-door policy
- You will work with a great team in a fast-growing deep-tech company
- You can expect regular performance reviews and long-term job prospects
- You can look forward to 30 vacation days per year
- You will have the chance to participate in valuable employee surveys
- You will work in a comfortable, bright and modern office with ergonomic equipment in compliance with health requirements
- You can benefit from “The Coolest Connection”, our employee referral program
- You will have the opportunity to get to know your team members better at our teambuilding events, Christmas parties, and other group events
- You will have free cold and hot drinks, snacks, and fruit at your disposal
- You can benefit from our company's pension plan, our bicycle leasing program (Jobrad), and contribution for the Deutschland-Ticket Jobticket
