Your mission
QuantWare is the world's leading manufacturer of superconducting quantum hardware. We are a high growth start-up with customers across multiple countries. Our mission is to accelerate the advent of the quantum computer.
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Quantum Measurement Engineer to join our R&D team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of next-generation quantum hardware by researching and designing advanced superconducting circuits. You will work in an international, collaborative environment alongside world-class experts, pushing the boundaries of quantum technology. If you are passionate about solving fundamental challenges in quantum measurement and eager to drive innovation in scalable quantum processors, we’d love to hear from you!
The impact of the role
As a Quantum Measurement Engineer in our R&D team, your work will be critical to advancing the scalability and performance of superconducting quantum processors. By developing nonreciprocal superconducting circuits, such as isolators and parametric amplifiers, you will enhance qubit readout accuracy, reduce noise, and improve the overall stability of quantum systems. You will be part of a team advancing the cutting-edge quantum technologies by developing the next generation of quantum readout module and increasing qubit performance through material research. Through close collaboration with experimentalists and device engineers, your research-driven innovations will bridge the gap between theoretical advancements and practical, scalable quantum systems.
Collaboration is at the core of this role. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate experimental results into the quantum device design cycle, directly influencing the development of next-generation quantum hardware. Your contributions will be essential in meeting our technical and product milestones, ensuring QuantWare remains at the forefront of quantum computing innovation.
What are you going to do?
Design and conduct device characterization experiments, aiming to advance quantum hardware in terms of performance and scalability, including
noise properties, gain, bandwidth, and isolation.
Increase qubit performance through material research, increasing coherence and 2q gate performance through reduced TLS losses.
Develop and optimize measurement protocols for nonreciprocal superconducting circuits, including isolators, and parametric amplifiers.
Analyze and interpret experimental data, identifying key trends to guide further development of superconducting quantum technologies.
Contribute to the development of high-fidelity qubit readout modules, integrating parametric amplifiers, isolators and other on-chip circuit components.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate experimental results into quantum device design cycles.
What are we offering?
An exciting position within an ambitious and innovative team and being part of the future of Quantum Computing;
We believe in giving and taking ownership, that’s why you decide the number of vacation days you take;
Good pension scheme;
The choice between a public transport business card or travel allowance;
Indoor & Outdoor team-activities;
A scale-up environment where you can shape your own role and receive a lot of responsibility;
International environment: we are an international company, both in terms of employees as well as customers;
We offer a safe space to experiment, trip, fall and get back up. We have the courage to be vulnerable and learn from experience and feedback.
Your profile
While we understand the perfect candidate might not exist, if you check most of the boxes below, we’d love to hear from you:
MSc in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (bonus points for a Phd)
