As an Engineering Director – Product, you will
- Lead and manage multiple engineering teams, ensuring high performance, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
- Drive strategic planning and execution of product development initiatives in alignment with company goals.
- Influence and provide visibility to decision makers on market trends and strategic product needs to help define product roadmap.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Leadership to support go-to-market, budgeting, and growth strategies.
- Define and implement best practices in engineering operations, quality, and scalability.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocations, and risk assessments.
- Monitor project timelines, technical risks, and resource allocation across teams.
- Establish, maintain, and build on automated monitoring and observability systems.
- Report on engineering progress, risks, and strategic needs to senior leadership; communicate technical insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a customer-driven focus in decision making, having a clear understanding of user needs and the competitive landscape.
- Evaluate and make key technical decisions, including trade-offs between build vs. buy, scalability vs. speed, and long-term vs. short-term solutions to align with objectives.
- Mentor engineering managers and technical leads, fostering career growth and team development.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Data Science, Operations Research, or related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, DevOps, data science, IT and/or other relevant engineering domains.
- 2+ years of successful project management experience in leading and managing engineering teams in a technology-driven company.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of modern development stacks, agile methodologies, and DevOps principles.
- Exposure to product management, with a strong understanding of lifecycle and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience delivering high-quality software on time and within scope.
- Demonstrated experience building and scaling SaaS products with high availability, performance, and maintainability.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams effectively.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, coupled with a keen eye for detail.
- Exceptional communication with a perfect command of English.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Data Science, Operations Research, or related field.
- Experience with product discovery techniques such as A/B testing, user research, and data-driven decision making to guide product development and feature prioritization.
- Experience working on Large Language Models, going under the hood to build and modify these objects.
- Experience optimizing API performance targets such as latency, throughput, and costs.
- Experience establishing and maintaining a Model Governance Framework and participation in compliance-related activities.
