The Center for Integrated Quantum Science and Technology (IQST, www.iqst.org) is dedicated to the development of innovative technologies based on quantum physics. Founded in 2014, IQST brings together researchers from physics, chemistry, engineering and life sciences, working across the University of Stuttgart, the University of Ulm, the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), and other universities in Baden-Württemberg.
Join us asProgram Manager (f/m/d)to support the coordination of academic programmes, training initiatives, and research activities at IQST.
Your responsibilities:
As Program Manager, you will support the planning, implementation and administration of interdisciplinary activities at IQST.
Programme Coordination & Science-Related Activities
Content-related and conceptual coordination of IQST programmes, with a particular focus on the IQST Graduate School
Development, planning, and implementation of interdisciplinary qualification formats for early-career researchers in line with subject-specific and research-related requirements
Coordination and content oversight of internal application and selection processes, including communication with applicants and reviewers
Preparation of science-related interim and final reports, including structured documentation of progress, outcomes, and use of funds
Strategic contribution to the further development of training formats and industry-facing programmes in close collaboration with IQST committees and scientific partners
Editorial maintenance and development of IQST’s communication channels to increase visibility of scientific activities
Organisation and delivery of public scientific events, representation of IQST at national and international fairs, conferences, and networking events
Administrative & Organisational Tasks
Support in the operational implementation of IQST’s annual activities and optimisation of internal workflows
Maintenance and preparation of programme-related documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Administrative coordination of events, including scheduling, venue/technical arrangements, and liaison with service providers
Documentation of expenses, monitoring budgets, and preparing financial information for funding reports
General organisational and logistical support for events, guest programmes, collaborations, and onboarding processes for new researchers
Your profile:
A university degree (MSc or PhD) in physics or another natural or engineering science, preferably with a background in quantum science and technology
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple workflows
Clear and professional communication skills in English (oral and written); German is a plus
A proactive, solution-oriented working style and team mindset
Initial experience in academic or scientific administration, ideally in an interdisciplinary environment
