As Director of Quantum Error Correction, you will manage the Quantum Error Correction Theory team while growing and directing the entire team as they architect and develop strategy of error correction on neutral atom quantum computers. Day-to-day responsibilities range from project management, fault-tolerance development, budgeting decisions as well as technical mentoring.

Job Responsibilities:- Lead and mentor our Quantum Error Correction Theory team members to perform at their best
- Collaborate with Software, Control Systems, Quantum Engineering, Quantum Applications and Optical Engineering to define Quantum Error Correction requirements and influence strategy
- Manage the Quantum Error Correction project roadmap, simulation, and implementation schedules
- Manage multi-million-dollar budget to keep Atom Computing running smoothly
- Recruit, hire, and retain top Quantum Error Correction talent
Experience & Education- PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Industry experience in Quantum Error Correction Theory
- Minimum of 2 years in a management role
Qualifications- 2+ years managing a team of Quantum Error Correction Theorists, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
- Temperamentally suited to work at a fast-growing, early-stage startup: self-motivated, humble, driven, collaborative, and has a high tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team of experimental physicists, hardware, and software engineers.
- Familiarity with Python and Git software version control
- Experience with quantum compilation
- Experience with classical optimization including convex optimization and mixed-integer programming
- Strong collaboration skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a changing work environment
- Ability and passion for hiring the best Quantum Error Correction Theorist from academia and industry

The base salary range for this position is between $200,000 - $250,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, we offer a bonus plan and incentive stock options for equity in the company.
