This summer internship plays an important role in helping us ramp up our cleanroom expansion in Espoo. You will support smooth day to day cleanroom and equipment operations, and help the team prepare tools and facilities for the next stage of our work. If you enjoy practical work, learning by doing, and working carefully in a high tech environment, this could be a great fit.
What will I be doing?
- Perform daily checkups of equipment and related facilities
- Support tool and facilities connections and basic readiness checks
- Assist senior equipment engineers with maintenance tasks and practical preparation work
- Document executed work tasks clearly and consistently
- Report progress, observations, and blockers to the team lead and keep teammates in the loop
- Follow safety rules and promptly report accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions
- Collaborate with fabrication operators, technicians, process development engineers, and other IQM teams
What skills do I need?
- Ongoing studies in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation, process engineering, materials science, physics, or similar
- Interest in equipment maintenance, facilities, or cleanroom operations, previous experience is helpful but not required
- Hands on attitude and motivation to learn new tools and ways of working
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when following instructions and safety practices
- Good time management and ability to organize your own daily tasks
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work calmly and safely even when things move fast
- Team mindset and willingness to ask for help early when something is unclear
- Basic understanding of safety regulations, or willingness to learn and follow them carefully
What skills are nice to have?
- Previous exposure to cleanroom work, lab work, production, or maintenance environments
- Familiarity with basic hand tools, connectors, or equipment preparation tasks
- Experience with documentation routines, checklists, or maintenance logs
- Finnish language skills
