Quantum computing is moving from research to real-world deployment, and IQM is helping organizations take that step. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in bringing this technology to customers across Italy. You will work closely with research institutions, enterprises, and public sector organizations, helping them understand the potential of quantum computing and turning strategic interest into concrete collaborations with IQM.
What will I be doing?
- Build and grow long term relationships with research institutions, enterprises, and public sector organizations across Italy
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities for IQM’s quantum computing portfolio
- Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting and opportunity shaping to negotiation and deal closure
- Manage and expand strategic customer accounts across your territory
- Prepare and coordinate responses to public tenders and funding opportunities
- Work closely with engineering and product teams to shape solutions that match customer needs
- Represent IQM at conferences, industry events, and customer meetings across the local ecosystem
- Monitor market trends in HPC, data centers, and emerging quantum technologies
- Contribute customer insights that help shape IQM’s product and market strategy
What skills do I need?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Extensive experience in sales or account management in high performance computing, data center infrastructure, or advanced computing technologies
- Experience selling complex technology solutions across hardware, software, telecommunications, or data center environments
- Proven track record of building and growing business within a defined territory
- Experience working with public tenders, public funding programs, or large technology projects
- Strong communication and relationship building skills with both technical and executive stakeholders
- Proficiency in Italian and English
Considered an advantage
- Experience working with High Performance Computing environments or scientific computing infrastructure
- Understanding of the quantum computing ecosystem
- Experience collaborating with systems integrators or technology partners
