We are seeking an Electronic Engineer to lead and support the integration, control electronics, and
automation of the ARQ Quantum Repeater Node. The role sits at the interface between quantum
hardware, control electronics, and software.
Main responsibilities
• Design, integrate, and maintain control electronics for the node
• Work with commercial control platforms (e.g. Qblox, ARTIQ, similar) and custom electronics
• Integrate electronics with lasers, optics, detectors, and quantum hardware
• Support system-level automation, calibration, and stability
• Work closely with quantum scientists and software engineers during node bring-up and scaling
Required background
• Strong experience in electronics for experimental systems
• Practical experience with Python for control, automation, and testing
• Comfortable working close to hardware (debugging, wiring, oscilloscopes, etc.)
Desirable skills
• Experience with FPGA-based control systems, timing-critical systems and synchronization
• Experience with quantum optics, atomic physics, or similar experimental platforms
• Hands-on experience in a laser and/or optics laboratory
• Previous work in early-stage R&D or prototype-heavy environments
Contract details:
• Full time contract. On-site. Flexible working hours - home office allowed when compatible.
• Vacation 23 days of vacation + 1 week at Christmas.
• Compensation: 45000 € / year
