We are looking for a Photonics & Quantum Techs Researcher for supporting cutting-edge research on photonics and optoelectronics applied to sensing applications
Tasks to be performed:
- Collaborate with senior engineers and researchers to design and prototype photonic systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optical components with electronic and software systems
- Design, build, and optimize experimental setups for optical and photonics sensing applications.
- Develop novel techniques and methodologies to enhance the sensitivity and reliability of photonic sensors.
- Conduct simulations and modeling to optimize the performance of photonic components.
- Document research findings, experimental procedures, and design specifications.
Required skills, experience and candidate profile:
- Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field or M.Sc with at least two years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 2 year experience in a similar position.
- Strong background in photonics and optoelectronic instrumentation.
- Experience in designing and building experimental setups for laser sensing applications involving free-space optics and optoelectronic instrumentation.
- Programming skills in languages like Python, MATLAB, or similar for data analysis and simulation.
- Proven expertise in experimental photonic sensors (experience in quantum sensing experiments using NV centers is highly valued).
- Curiosity and bold attitude to venturing into novel R&D domains and embracing state-of-the-art technologies.
- Strong proficiency in English.
