Want to be a key part of shaping the quantum future? At Lace Lithography we are expanding our hardware team and now looking for an experimental physicist with knowledge and experience of laser cooling techniques to join the Instrument team in Bergen, Norway.

Your Role:
As part of our hardware team, you'll collaborate closely with the Tech Lead and our AI & Simulations unit based in Barcelona, Spain, to craft the company's technical trajectory. Your primary responsibilities include hands-on management of laboratory affairs including vacuum systems and optical setups. We're seeking someone with a passion for advancing cutting-edge scientific instrumentation. If you have been involved in developing advanced instruments within a fast-paced environment in industry or research you are our ideal candidate.
We strongly encourage candidates who have recently finished their PhD to apply.
Specifically, we anticipate you to:
- Contribute to the development of Lace's next-generation instrumentation, actively engaging in lab work.
- Contribute to the company's intellectual property portfolio and foster an environment of innovation.
- Collaborate with the AI & Simulations team to identify theoretical challenges for optimizing experimental instrument performance.
- Work closely with the AI & Simulations team to ensure physics-related code aligns with experimental outcomes and constraints.
Education & Experience:
This role necessitates a Master's or Ph. D. degree in Physics or a related engineering field
- Experience in the use of advanced techniques of laser cooling.
- Proficiency in the design and operation of high and ultra-high vacuum systems.
- Proven track record in designing, specifying components for, and constructing experimental setups and prototypes.
- Proficiency in conducting systematic experimental measurements, coupled with adeptness in metrology error analysis.
- Experience in mounting optical components and setting up optical systems.
