About
Chisomo Daka is a Malawian physicist, educator, and technology entrepreneur working at the intersection of quantum computing, machine learning, and advanced technology innovation. He is a PhD candidate in Physics at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, where his research focuses on quantum computing and quantum machine learning, including hybrid quantum-classical algorithms and variational quantum models for near-term quantum devices. He holds an MSc in Physics from Lovely Professional University, India, a BEdSc in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Malawi, and an MBA from Valar Institute, USA. His wider interests include condensed matter physics, materials science, nanotechnology, electronics, antennas, electromagnetism, and quantum mechanics. He is also the founder of Daka Space Technologies Ltd, regarded as Malawi’s first space technology startup, through which he promotes African-led innovation in aerospace, satellite systems, AI-enabled platforms, and scientific capacity building.
