Join Our Team as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer at Qblox!
At Qblox, we are at the forefront of quantum computing, developing high-precision control stacks that generate the analogue signals essential for controlling and reading out quantum bits in next-generation quantum computing and networking systems. Our work directly contributes to
shaping the future of this revolutionary technology.
As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer on our R&D team, you will tackle complex mechanical challenges, from identifying root causes to conceptualizing and implementing innovative solutions. You will ensure that mechanical designs seamlessly integrate into our advanced systems, delivering products that meet exacting performance and reliability standards. Your expertise in CAD design, mechanical analysis, and engineering principles will be instrumental in bringing our cutting-edge products to life.
Joining Qblox means becoming part of a dynamic, international team where innovation thrives. Collaboration is at the heart of our culture — ideas are shared, creativity is encouraged, and solutions are crafted together. You will have the autonomy to explore, experiment, and make
meaningful contributions that directly impact the trajectory of our projects.
If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology, thrive in a collaborative environment, and want to play a key role in building the next generation of quantum computing hardware, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead the development, optimization, and implementation of mechanical solutions for electronic products and PCB assemblies.
● Design mechanical components, assemblies, enclosures, heatsinks, and RF shields with a focus on manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
● Perform mechanical, thermal, and structural analysis and simulations, including thermal management and electromagnetic shielding considerations.
● Design verification, prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic systems.
● Generate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
● Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
● Mentor and guide junior engineers and provide technical expertise during the product development lifecycle.
● Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) initiatives to optimize production processes.
Enough about us, what about you?
To really enjoy this role, we imagine that you will possess the following experience:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development, preferably with electronic products and PCB assemblies.
● Proven experience in both system-level design and detailed engineering of mechanical components, including heatsinks and RF shields.
● Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs.
● Proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar).
● Skilled in creating technical 2D drawings, assemblies, and documentation.
● Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances relevant to electronics and PCB enclosures.
● Experience with mechanical, thermal, and electrical simulations (FEA, CFD, thermal analysis), including heat dissipation and EMI shielding.
● Excellent communication skills in English (full professional proficiency, written and spoken).
● Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
● Highly motivated, proactive, and a collaborative team player with a creative “can-do” mentality.
