Founded in 2020 and based in the heart of Paris, C12’s mission is to be at the center of one of the biggest technological breakthroughs of the century, and change the course of history by building a universal quantum computer.
At C12, we believe that achieving a true breakthrough in quantum computing requires rethinking the fundamentals. That’s why our founders—deeply rooted in academic and engineering excellence—have chosen carbon nanotubes as the building blocks of our quantum processors. This ultra-pure material dramatically reduces error rates, boosts performance, and minimises hardware overhead—key ingredients for scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computing. By crafting a unique approach that scales, we aim to revolutionise quantum computing just as silicon transformed classical computing.
Since our founding, we’ve raised over €25 million in funding, published 11 scientific papers, and secured 8 patents. Today, our fast-growing team of 60, including 20 PhDs, has over 20 nationalities represented. We have our own cutting-edge lab space in Paris' historic Panthéon district; where scientists, engineers, and innovators work side-by-side to tackle some of the most exciting technical challenges of our time.

BLOCK 1 — EXECUTIVE SNAPSHOT
This role is the critical, non-scientific backbone for a deep-tech hardware scaling operation, translating research-grade security and reliability requirements into production-ready enterprise IT systems. In the quantum sector, where intellectual property and highly sensitive R&D data are foundational assets, the IT Manager's function moves beyond mere maintenance to become a core defensive and operational enablement strategy. By implementing rigorous device fleet management, network segmentation, and zero-trust principles via modern MDM/EDR solutions, this function directly reduces the attack surface and ensures compliance necessary to secure future funding rounds and protect proprietary carbon nanotube qubit technology. Without this infrastructural stability, the rapid scaling of the 60-person, research-intensive team would be impossible, presenting an acute risk to project timelines and hardware security.
BLOCK 2 — INDUSTRY & ECOSYSTEM ANALYSIS
The quantum value chain is bifurcated: highly secure, specialized lab environments for quantum hardware, and agile, cloud-integrated enterprise environments for software/data functions. This IT Manager position operates at the intersection of both, where the challenge is to maintain secure, high-integrity IT services while accommodating a multidisciplinary workforce of physicists, engineers, and business personnel. C12’s specific use of carbon nanotubes for fault-tolerant computing mandates an IT posture that supports rapid iteration on R&D hardware data (potentially requiring significant internal network segmentation and high-speed data transfer capacity) while simultaneously adhering to global enterprise security standards (SSO, EDR, MDM). The current industry challenge is the "scaling bottleneck," which applies not just to qubits, but to the operational infrastructure that supports them. Companies like C12 must scale their IT from a startup configuration to a global technology firm structure, demanding a strategic transition from fragmented, ad-hoc solutions to integrated, policy-driven ITIL best practices. The reliance on platforms like Microsoft 365, Intune, and Kandji signals a commitment to industry-standard toolchains to bridge the talent gap between highly specialized quantum engineers and generalist IT expertise, ensuring that security and device management are not bespoke, brittle systems but maintainable, commercially supported services. This operational maturity is a necessary precondition for attracting institutional partners and moving from lab-based proof-of-concept to commercial viability.
BLOCK 3 — TECHNICAL SKILL ARCHITECTURE
The technical architecture required for success is centered on cross-platform endpoint hardening and secure identity management, enabling high-assurance environments across mixed Windows, macOS, and Linux fleets. Proficiency in mobile device management (MDM) using Intune and Kandji is not merely asset tracking but a security control layer that enforces device compliance and separation of duties in a research setting. Mastery of EDR/XDR platforms, specifically Bitdefender GravityZone, ensures that threat detection and incident response capabilities are centralized and automated, critical for mitigating intellectual property theft risks common in competitive deep-tech fields. Furthermore, network administration expertise—firewalls, VLANs, and access control—is essential for creating segmented networks that isolate high-risk research data and lab equipment from standard corporate IT infrastructure, ensuring physical and digital security boundaries are maintained. The focus on ITIL standards for support processes optimizes resolution times, thereby maximizing the uptime and productivity of high-value scientific and engineering personnel.
BLOCK 4 — STRATEGIC IMPACT * Enables rapid, secure onboarding and offboarding, supporting aggressive workforce scaling goals.
* Establishes defensible security compliance standards essential for future investment and government contracts.
* Protects proprietary quantum chip designs and R\&D data through advanced endpoint detection and response (EDR).
* Guarantees operational continuity for critical nanofabrication and quantum control systems via robust network management.
* Translates global IT best practices (ITIL) into a deep-tech context, improving organizational efficiency.
* Centralizes and standardizes access controls (SSO, identity management), reducing internal risk vectors.
* Accelerates the velocity of scientific output by maximizing researcher uptime through efficient IT support.
* Creates an auditable IT environment that adheres to the increasingly stringent data handling requirements of quantum hardware development.
* Facilitates geographic expansion or multi-site operation through standardized, remotely managed IT infrastructure.
* Reduces latency and improves data integrity by optimizing internal network architecture (VLANs, firewalls).
