Founded in 2020 and based in the heart of Paris, C12’s mission is to be at the center of one of the biggest technological breakthroughs of the century, and change the course of history by building a universal quantum computer.
At C12, we believe that achieving a true breakthrough in quantum computing requires rethinking the fundamentals. That’s why our founders—deeply rooted in academic and engineering excellence—have chosen carbon nanotubes as the building blocks of our quantum processors. This ultra-pure material dramatically reduces error rates, boosts performance, and minimises hardware overhead—key ingredients for scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computing. By crafting a unique approach that scales, we aim to revolutionise quantum computing just as silicon transformed classical computing.
Since our founding, we’ve raised over €25 million in funding, published 11 scientific papers, and secured 8 patents. Today, our fast-growing team of 60, including 20 PhDs, has over 20 nationalities represented. We have our own cutting-edge lab space in Paris' historic Panthéon district; where scientists, engineers, and innovators work side-by-side to tackle some of the most exciting technical challenges of our time.

TECHNICAL & MARKET ANALYSIS | Appended by Quantum.Jobs
BLOCK 1 — EXECUTIVE SNAPSHOT
This senior operational technology management function is critical to fortifying the foundational resilience of a deep-tech quantum hardware firm, whose carbon nanotube approach mandates exceptionally rigorous control over its digital and physical infrastructure. The role transcends typical corporate IT support by directly underwriting the security, compliance, and scalability of the internal systems that support proprietary quantum development, nanofabrication, and classified scientific research, thereby mitigating systemic risk that could compromise intellectual property or operational uptime within a high-value, high-risk research environment.
BLOCK 2 — INDUSTRY & ECOSYSTEM ANALYSIS
The strategic necessity of a dedicated IT Manager within a pure-play quantum computing startup like C12 is a clear indicator of the quantum ecosystem's transition from academic novelty to commercial maturation. As quantum companies scale their talent (C12 reports a team of 60) and intellectual property (over €25M raised, multiple patents secured), their attack surface expands dramatically. Unlike conventional IT environments, quantum firms host a unique blend of sensitive data, including experimental results, nanofabrication protocols, and control stack IP, making data security a mission-critical function rather than a standard compliance overhead. The carbon nanotube architecture, a significant technological differentiator, relies on ultra-pure material science and precise nanofabrication, meaning the stability of the R\&D network infrastructure and device endpoints directly impacts qubit quality and error-rate performance—a key scalability bottleneck across the industry. This position addresses the workforce gap between specialized quantum scientists and robust enterprise operational technology management, ensuring that research momentum is not jeopardized by insufficient cybersecurity posture, disjointed fleet management, or IT-level operational friction. In the broader market structure, maintaining ISO/IEC compliance standards for the lab environment's OT/IT convergence is paramount for future commercialization efforts and securing further institutional funding.
BLOCK 3 — TECHNICAL SKILL ARCHITECTURE
The core technical architecture of this role is defined by converged endpoint security and enterprise mobility management (EMM), utilizing platforms like Intune and Kandji to establish a unified policy enforcement layer across heterogeneous operating environments (Windows, macOS, Linux). This centralized device management capability ensures configuration compliance and patch cadence, which is foundational to reducing zero-day vulnerability exposure, particularly in an R\&D context where specialized, non-standard software frequently interacts with the network. Proficiency in network administration, including VLAN segmentation and robust firewall management, is crucial for creating secure, isolated enclaves for sensitive lab equipment and administrative functions, thereby restricting lateral movement in the event of an intrusion. The ITIL framework competency ensures standardized service delivery, optimizing resource allocation and dramatically reducing mean-time-to-resolution for technical issues, directly translating into increased scientific throughput and minimizing downtime for high-cost experimental assets.
BLOCK 4 — STRATEGIC IMPACT * Formalizing the IT security baseline necessary to qualify for government and defense contracts involving sensitive quantum data.
* Enabling seamless, secure scaling of the global, multidisciplinary workforce by standardizing onboarding and access control via SSO and identity management.
* Minimizing operational risk by establishing ITIL-compliant processes for incident categorization and escalation, protecting proprietary research data.
* Securing the intellectual property pipeline (patents, scientific papers) through rigorous EDR/XDR policy enforcement and compliance oversight.
* Reducing quantum hardware development cycle delays by guaranteeing high-availability, low-latency network performance for experimental controls.
* Professionalizing the deep-tech operational environment to attract top-tier global talent across engineering and quantum science domains.
* Implementing necessary security controls to support potential compliance requirements for future public listings or major institutional investment.
* Translating laboratory security needs into measurable, auditable digital governance and policy frameworks.
* Establishing a foundation for ISO 27001 or equivalent certification essential for B2B trust in the quantum hardware sector.
* Protecting the integrity of carbon nanotube fabrication data which is fundamental to C12's competitive advantage.
