The internship will focus on resource estimation for quantum cryptanalysis. The work will specifically address symmetric cryptographic schemes, with an emphasis on password-based security, in the context of quantum algorithms such as Grover’s algorithm and novel ideas. \n
Responsibilities:At Alice & Bob you will:
• Get an onboarding on the required technologies
• Study state of the art papers on the internship topic
• Implement selected algorithms
• Perform resource estimation of these algorithms and compare them
• Propose novel ideas and research directions, and implement them accordingly
• Document your implementations through reports and presentations
Requirements:
Last year of engineering school or Master degree, in cryptanalysis and/or quantum computing
Hard skills:
- Proficiency in Python (scientific computing, simulations, or algorithm implementation)
- Ability to read, understand, and implement research papers
- Knowledge of quantum computing concepts and/or cryptanalysis is a plus
Soft skills:
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Curiosity and interest in research-driven environments
- Ability to work autonomously on open-ended topics
- Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team player mindset and collaborative attitude
- Written and oral skills in French is a plus
