About Nord Quantique
At Nord Quantique, we strive to build impactful technology by relentlessly pushing our understanding of quantum science. We are an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, innovators, builders, and enthusiasts on a mission to make quantum computing a reality. Our quantum processors are designed to reduce errors in quantum computation to facilitate long-term scaling toward fully-fledged quantum computers. We believe it is our responsibility to deliver this transformative technology for the greater good of society.
Located at the heart of the beautiful Eastern Townships region in the province of Quebec, Canada, we develop our technology in the vibrant quantum ecosystem of Sherbrooke. Leaning on more than a decade of vertical integration of quantum hardware, we are leveraging a comprehensive pool of quantum technology and micro-electronic infrastructure to deploy our quantum computing technology.
Our current needs
Nord Quantique is building its Project Management Office (PMO) to support and scale the execution of its scientific roadmap in a context of growing R&D complexity.
As a Project Manager within this function, you will work under the guidance of the Head of PMO and play a key role in coordinating and supporting the execution of R&D projects across the organization.
You will act as a strategic operational partner to technical and team leads, helping bring clarity, alignment, and structure to fast-moving and evolving research programs. Through hands-on involvement in day-to-day coordination, you will ensure that priorities, dependencies, and milestones remain visible, aligned, and actionable, while facilitating communication across interdisciplinary teams.
In an initial phase, you will work closely with multiple R&D teams to coordinate priorities, track progress, identify bottlenecks, and support execution. This phase is critical for developing a deep understanding of team workflows, building strong working relationships, and ensuring consistency in project coordination practices.
As the PMO matures, your role will progressively evolve toward increased ownership of project coordination activities and active contribution to the implementation and continuous improvement of project management practices, tools, and processes tailored to an exploratory R&D environment where priorities evolve and uncertainty is inherent.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of science, engineering, and operations, who thrives in dynamic and complex environments, and who is motivated by enabling technical teams to do their best work by bringing structure without rigidity.
Working in close collaboration with technical and management staff at Nord Quantique, the chosen candidate will:
- Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and internal milestones across R&D teams
- Maintain clarity on priorities, dependencies, and overall project status
- Support technical leads in planning, resource coordination, and milestone definition
- Facilitate cross-team communication and ensure alignment across projects
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation and tracking tools
- Identify execution bottlenecks and support resolution of operational challenges
- Support day-to-day execution through structured follow-ups and coordination
- Ensure alignment with PMO guidelines, processes, and standards
- Apply and maintain structured reporting processes, providing clear and consistent updates
- Contribute to continuous improvement of PMO practices, tools, and workflows, while supporting a positive and collaborative team environment
Education and experience requirements:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project coordination or project management.
- Experience supporting technical, scientific, or engineering teams.
Preferred
- Experience contributing to process or workflow improvements.
- Experience in deep-tech, quantum, or advanced R&D environments
- Familiarity with project-management frameworks (agile, hybrid, or research-adapted) and tools (Ms Project, Jira, ClickUp, Notion, etc.)
Sought expertise and knowledge:
- Excellent documentation practices
- Ability to enable change management activities within growing teams
- Intermediate or higher level of French is an asset
Sought profile:
- Strong communication skills
- Organized and reliable, with a proactive approach to execution
- Collaborative and empathetic, with an interest in team wellbeing
- Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple cross-functional team projects
- Excellent adaptability
- Ability to bring structure to ambiguity
- Skilled at building strong working relationships across technical and non-technical teams
- Motivated by supporting innovation and enabling people to focus on what they do best
