Join Us at the Forefront of Quantum Computing Innovation 🚀Â
As our manufacturing moves from R&D and low-volume production toward structured, scalable industrial output, we're looking for a hands-on Lean engineer who combines strong analytical skills with a pragmatic shop-floor mindset. You'll adapt Lean intelligently to a complex high-tech environment (long cycle times, expensive equipment, cleanroom and yield constraints) and help us manufacture faster, more reliably and at greater scale, without compromising quality or innovation.Â
Your Key Resonsabilities
- Define and deploy Lean principles across our semiconductor, photonic and system manufacturing, adapting them intelligently to a complex, low-volume/high-mix environmentÂ
- Map end-to-end flows with Value Stream Mapping, define current and future states, and build improvement roadmaps based on real constraints
- Analyze cycle time at product, workshop and process-step level, separating processing, queue, waiting, transport and test times, and lead actions to reduce lead time and WIPÂ
- Introduce pull-flow or controlled-WIP principles where relevant and improve flow between workshops and production stages
- Identify bottlenecks, analyze equipment loading and capacity losses, and optimize sequencing around constrained equipmentÂ
- Implement and improve OEE monitoring on critical equipment, analyze availability, performance and quality losses, and support preventive maintenance and TPM initiatives
- Develop standardized work with Methods and Production to reduce variability between operators and runsÂ
- Build shop-floor and visual management systems (safety, quality, delivery, cost, WIP) with daily routines and escalation mechanisms
- Lead structured problem solving (PDCA, DMAIC, 5 Why, Ishikawa, Pareto, Kaizen) and build these capabilities within production teamsÂ
- Deploy and sustain 5S, including in cleanroom environments, while respecting contamination-control and safety requirements
- Work with Process Engineering and Quality to reduce scrap, rework and yield losses without compromising process robustnessÂ
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities, build business cases for Lean projects and track actual savings
- Embed Lean into new production lines, layouts and equipment investments, so scale-up doesn't replicate today's inefficiencies at a larger scaleÂ
- Engineering degree or Master's in Industrial, Manufacturing or Operations Engineering, or a related technical fieldÂ
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Manufacturing Engineering or Continuous Improvement
- Proven track record of improving manufacturing performanceÂ
- Hands-on expertise in VSM, Standardized Work, 5S, OEE, and cycle-time and WIP reduction
- Strong data-driven, analytical mindsetÂ
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive change
- Fluent French and professional EnglishÂ
Nice to have
- Â Experience in semiconductors, photonics, cleanroom or wafer fab, industrial scale-up, SPC, or ERP/MES environments; Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certificationÂ
- Competitive salary, flexible based on your experience
- Profit-sharing & company savings plan
- 100% health coverage (Alan)
- 50% transport reimbursement or sustainable mobility bonus
- Meal vouchers (Swile), Gymlib fitness support
- Childcare assistance & referral bonuses (€1,000–€2,000)
What we offer:
- A meaningful role with real ownership, from day one
- A team eager to collaborate and grow with you
- A hybrid work model (3 days/week onsite in Massy, 1 day in Paris, 1 to 2 days remotely)
- Daily exposure to the entire quantum stack — from high-level APIs to low-level firmware, and everything in between.
Process
- Talent Acquisition Interview (45')
- Hiring Manager Interview (45')
- Use Case (a live use case or one to be prepared at home and presented afterward)
- Meeting with the teams
- 2 reference check
- Offer
(This process is provided for guidance only and may evolve depending on the roles)
At Quandela, we believe that the strength of our team is the plurality of experiences, perspectives, and journeys. We are committed to building a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment. All applications are welcome.Â
QUANTUM ROLE CONTEXT | Appended by Quantum.Jobs v2
Role context:
This role exists to transition high-technology hardware assembly from early-stage development toward structured, repeatable production. Positioned between process engineering, quality, and shop-floor operations, the function establishes standardized workflows, optimizes production throughput, and minimizes process variability. By analyzing manufacturing constraints, cycle times, and operational bottlenecks, professionals in this position ensure complex hardware systems are fabricated efficiently. They establish visual management systems, continuous improvement routines, and waste-reduction frameworks to support operational scaling without compromising technical precision.
Quantum ecosystem relevance:
The role contributes to enabling infrastructure by supporting the industrial scaling of quantum hardware assembly. As quantum technology transitions from laboratory prototypes to commercialized systems, manufacturing operations must adapt traditional continuous improvement practices to specialized cleanrooms, complex photonic components, and advanced semiconductor fabrication. Optimizing equipment utilization and yield efficiency in these high-mix environment supports the cost-effective deployment of full-stack quantum platforms.
