Alice&Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.
The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!
We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM. We are growing fast, securing 30 million USD of funding in 2022 to develop our unique technology.
We are 125 and counting, between physicists, PhDs, engineers and experienced business professionals, all united in reaching our ambitious goal. If you are an explorer, craving to challenge yourself and make quantum computing come true, come and join us!
As a Mechatronic Engineering Intern, your mission is to assist the engineering team in various tasks related to the design, development, and production of mechanical and mechatronic components. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting design activities, helping to create manufacturing drawings, and learning about key manufacturing processes. Under the guidance of senior engineers, you will contribute to solving technical challenges, improve your skills in mechanical/mechatronical design, and learn about material and design linked to operations in cryogenic environments (near 0 Kelvin) and RF / superconducting systems.
You will work within a multi-disciplinary team and you will report to the mechanical engineers and RF engineers

Responsibilities - Mechanical design and sizing, or working with subcontractors on components development
- Getting specifications and guidelines from RF engineers & physicists on your developments
- Creation of 2D drawings and files for manufacturing
- Supplier coordination from pre-project through final acceptance
- Overseeing parts acceptance, assembly, and manufacturing processes
- Final equipment tests & qualification
- Drafting of assembly and operational diagrams
- Supporting testing activities
Requirements - Mechanical/mechatronic/RF engineering student, for a 6 months internship.
- Mechanical requirements : Strong understanding of general mechanics & production, Proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, 2D ISO dimensioning. Solidworks PDM is a plus. Familiarity with material properties
- Electronics requirements : Strong understanding of general electronics. Some experience with design of electronics system (analog signals, digital signals, measurements...). Knowledge in RF (radiofrequency signals) system design and measurements is a strong plus.
