The department:You’ll be working at TNO Vector, the centre for social innovation and strategy, within the Economics & Innovation Policy department. Here, we combine technology, innovation, and policy knowledge to find solutions to major societal issues.With a diverse team of around 25 researchers and consultants, we’re working on a future-proof innovation climate for the Netherlands and Europe. We approach problems from different perspectives and translate ideas into concrete applications.Your work includes:You’ll be working on national and European projects focusing on:Current policies for technology, innovation, and industry.Innovation in ecosystems.Strategic autonomy.Innovation analysis and impact on topics such as AI, quantum technology, cyber security, high-tech devices, and satellite communications.You’ll develop new methods and tools for policy-making, such as forecasting trends, designing strategies, and measuring impact.In doing so, you’ll use the latest scientific insights and apply them in your recommendations and analyses.You’ll focus on socio-technical transitions, such as the energy transition, the transition in manufacturing, material innovations, and digitalisation.You’ll perform data-driven analysis and foresight studies for R&D and innovation strategies relevant to the Netherlands and Europe.You’ll translate your insights into concrete recommendations and share them with policymakers, companies, and society through reports, notes, and presentations.
