Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.
The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!
We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology.
Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!
As part of our expansion, we are looking for an engineer specializing in thermal and vibration
modeling, capable of addressing the complex physical issues involved in integrating RF
measurement lines into cryostats, as well as all components at cryogenic temperature.
\n
Responsibilites: - Carry out detailed thermal modeling (conduction, radiation, thermal interface) in cryogenic environment (10mK - 4 K - 300 K), with a focus on RF/microwave measurement lines.
- Evaluate market solutions and define the most suitable candidates for our future needs, taking into account all associated constraints (thermal, RF, mechanical, integration).
- Optimize the thermal behavior of mechanical designs and RF components used in our cryostats.
- Model the vibratory behavior of cryostats and their components, in relation to internal and external mechanical vibration sources, and their effects on the stability of quantum experiments.
- Propose and validate engineering solutions (materials, supports, fixtures, thermal coupling, vibration decoupling).
- Participate in the design, prototyping and experimental validation of modeled solutions.
Requirements:- Engineering degree or PhD in thermal engineering, applied physics, mechanics or related field, with 3 to 5 years' experience.
- Proven experience in thermal modeling (FEM type - COMSOL, ANSYS, solidworks).
- Experience in thermal simulation in cryogenic sorvery low temperature environments.
- Knowledge of vibration mechanics applied to flexible or semi-rigid structures.
- Interest in quantum systems, RF/microwaves.
- Autonomy, rigor, analytical skills and team spirit.
- Nice to have : Experience in cryostat design or cryogenic instrumentation; knowledge of the constraints of a quantum laboratory environment (wiring, shielding, stability, etc.); solid knowledge of mechanical design principles, including 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks) and finite element analysis; Knowledge of DC RF electronics, possibly Kicad software.
