- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders across legal, finance, people, operations, and business teams to address compliance challenges and embed compliance into business processes.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and independently drive solutions without requiring extensive direction or oversight.
What we’re looking for
- 10–15 years of experience in compliance, ethics, risk management, or related fields, ideally within a global organization.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, or significantly enhancing compliance programs and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of compliance best practices, internal controls, risk assessment methodologies, and governance principles.
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership, proactively identifying issues and driving solutions with minimal supervision.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage repetitive and administrative activities consistently and effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative approach to working across different functions and levels of the organization.
- High degree of integrity, sound judgment, and professional credibility, with the ability to build trust across the business.
- Experience delivering compliance training and awareness initiatives that foster a strong culture of ethics and accountability.
- Familiarity with compliance management and collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Confluence, and Granite.
- Legal degree preferred.

- Experience within highly regulated industries, multinational environments, or deep technology organizations is considered a plus.
Why IQM?
- Full-stack quantum computing: From quantum hardware to software layers and beyond, we build across the full-stack.
- High-performance playground: We aim high, and we know sustainable performance only works when life outside work does too—hybrid setups, flexible hours.
- Never the smartest: Expect to learn constantly. You won't always be the smartest person in the room, and that's the point.
- Approachable leadership: Flat hierarchy, direct access. Feel free to approach any leaders. They're friendlier than they look!
- The sweet spot: Big enough to matter. Small enough to move fast. Growing between a startup and a corporation. We’re in the phase where top performers get noticed.
- Bigger than IQM: Our people build know-how for the entire quantum ecosystem. We publish papers, run hackathons, and help shape a market that's still being defined.
The future of computing won’t build itself. You might be one of the few who do.
We'll start interviews and move forward with hiring as soon as we meet strong candidates. Please submit your application soon.

TECHNICAL & MARKET ANALYSIS | Appended by Quantum.Jobs
The expansion of the global quantum industry from laboratory research to industrial-scale manufacturing necessitates a transition from informal oversight to rigorous, enterprise-grade compliance architectures. As companies like IQM move through higher Technology Readiness Levels, the structural necessity for senior expertise in regulatory alignment and internal governance becomes a critical stabilization point for the entire value chain. This role type serves as a fundamental mechanism for mitigating the systemic risks associated with dual-use technology, complex supply chains, and evolving international trade frameworks. By embedding standardized protocols into high-performance computing environments, the function ensures that scientific breakthroughs are architecturally compatible with global market requirements and national security mandates. Such expertise is essential for resolving the coordination gap between rapid technological innovation and the institutional stability required for long-term commercial readiness and investor confidence.
The quantum ecosystem is currently navigating a decisive shift from laboratory proof-of-concepts to the deployment of full-stack systems within global enterprise infrastructures. This evolution introduces a layer of complexity where compliance shifts from a risk-shielding function to a core strategic capability. Organizations must now manage a fragmented landscape of emerging digital trade rules, data localization mandates, and algorithm transparency regulations. Market signals from the OECD and national technology bodies highlight that enterprises required to navigate multiple major regulatory paradigms experience a structural surge in compliance costs, often exceeding 30%.
Furthermore, the dual-use nature of quantum technologies places them at the intersection of stringent export controls and international collaboration. The resulting governance dilemma requires a sophisticated approach to supply chain integrity and intellectual property protection. As the sector scales, the primary bottleneck for industrial adoption has expanded from purely hardware-related challenges to the necessity for robust ethical, sustainable, and governance-oriented research models.
Workforce scarcity is particularly acute for specialized professionals who can bridge the technical nuances of quantum information science with the protocols of global regulatory frameworks.
