Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.
The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit 🐈⬛. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!
We're a diverse team of 250+ brilliant minds from over 35 countries united by a single goal: to revolutionise computing with a practical fault-tolerant quantum machine. Are you ready to take on unprecedented challenges and contribute to revolutionising technology? Join us, and let's shape the future of quantum computing together!
About the Role
This role works closely with the leadership team, and is the chief architect of quantum education, inside the company and out. In this position, you will build Alice & Bob's Academy from the ground up: internal learning programs that bring quantum literacy to every employee, a world-class summer school for doctoral researchers, and the long-term co-creation of a competitive master's degree in quantum physics with leading European institutions.
About You
You're a builder who has launched programs, grown communities, and created structure in complex environments — from academia, a research institute, a deep tech company, or an education-focused organization anywhere in the world. What matters most is a track record of getting things off the ground, the ability to earn scientists' trust, and genuine passion for making frontier science accessible. A non-linear career path is a strength here, not a liability.

TECHNICAL & MARKET ANALYSIS | Appended by Quantum.Jobs
The emergence of educational leadership functions within deep-tech hardware organizations represents a critical pivot from localized academic research to structured talent pipeline management. As the hardware layer transitions toward fault-tolerant systems, the structural necessity for standardized knowledge transfer mechanisms becomes paramount to resolving the critical workforce bottlenecks threatening global commercialization timelines. This specialized capability ensures the predictable availability of high-tier talent capable of translating complex physical discoveries into scalable, industrial applications. Market indicators from the European Commission and national technology initiatives demonstrate that scaling commercial quantum entities requires formalized structural learning to mitigate severe engineering shortages. By establishing deterministic educational frameworks, this function secures the human capital foundation required for multi-decade deep-tech infrastructure investments and ecosystem growth.
The quantum information science and technology sector faces a distinct structural tension between accelerating technological readiness levels and a highly constrained global supply of qualified researchers and engineers. As industrial investments pivot toward advanced superconducting topologies, the bottleneck for commercial development has increasingly moved from pure hardware research to systemic workforce readiness. Sector-wide efforts continue to address talent and integration challenges in quantum systems, highlighting the need for programmatic interventions that bridge higher education and commercial research labs.
Ecosystem scalability is directly dependent on stabilizing the talent pipeline at the interface of academia and industry. The current fragmentation of experimental methodologies across different hardware platforms complicates traditional educational paths, leaving graduate programs unaligned with corporate technological roadmaps. Strategic workforce planning at national levels requires institutionalized collaboration frameworks to ensure that doctoral and postdoctoral discoveries are systematically integrated into industrial-grade systems engineering.
Furthermore, building an interconnected developer and user ecosystem is essential for long-term commercial enablement. The conversion of foundational hardware breakthroughs into viable market platforms requires structured external engagement, encompassing multi-tiered training for industry partners and public stakeholders. This programmatic approach accelerates standard adoption pathways and reduces long-term deployment friction across the broader technology value chain.
The capability architecture for this role type centers on the synchronization of advanced educational design with frontier quantum information sciences. Mastery of structured pedagogical frameworks and academic institutional systems is essential for transforming complex scientific breakthroughs into standardized, accessible curricula for cross-functional stakeholders. This requires a deep operational understanding of the regulatory landscapes governing graduate-level program accreditation and public-private research funding mechanisms within European networks.
These capabilities are fundamental to organizational output, as they establish scalable knowledge management systems that reduce internally onboarding friction across highly technical teams. By cultivating formalized international networks with universities and national laboratories, this function drives long-term recruitment predictability and ecosystem alignment. Ultimately, these programmatic assets enable the continuous capitalization of research and development investments by stabilizing the underlying human capital infrastructure. - Accelerates the transition of advanced physical insights into scalable enterprise training applications
