- Daily exposure to the entire quantum stack — from high-level APIs to low-level firmware, and everything in between.
Process
- Talent Acquisition Interview (30' - 45')
- Hiring Manager Interview (45')
- Use Case (a live use case or one to be prepared at home and presented afterward)
- Meeting with the teams
- 2 reference check
- Offer
(This process is provided for guidance only and may evolve depending on the roles)
At Quandela, we believe that the strength of our team is the plurality of experiences, perspectives, and journeys. We are committed to building a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment. All applications are welcome.
TECHNICAL & MARKET ANALYSIS | Appended by Quantum.Jobs
The emergence of specialized procurement leadership within the deep-tech sector represents a critical maturation point as organizations transition from laboratory prototyping to industrial-scale hardware production. In the quantum computing ecosystem, managing the supply chain for advanced electronics and microelectronics is structurally essential for overcoming the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) translation gap. This role type serves as a primary stabilization mechanism within the hardware enablement layer, ensuring that high-precision capital equipment and custom components meet strict sovereign compliance and engineering roadmaps. Market signals from global technology strategy updates indicate that establishing formal, resilient procurement workflows is crucial for mitigating systemic bottlenecks in specialized hardware sourcing. By transforming bespoke engineering requirements into predictable supplier networks, this function ensures enterprise-grade operational stability and long-term production scalability within the competitive technology value chain.
The quantum hardware value chain is undergoing a structural shift from opportunistic component sourcing to formalized, resilient supply chain architectures. As hardware developers advance toward fault-tolerant systems, the primary operational bottleneck has expanded from pure scientific discovery to the reproducible procurement of highly specialized cryogenic, microwave, and microelectronic subsystems. Sector-wide efforts continue to address talent and integration challenges in quantum systems, placing a premium on operational leaders who can successfully navigate international export controls and dual-use regulations. This regulatory complexity, particularly within the European framework, demands institutional-grade supplier governance to insulate emerging deep-tech leaders from geopolitical and macroeconomic disruptions.
Concurrently, vendor fragmentation in the semiconductor and custom electronics markets creates high-risk single-source dependencies for pioneer hardware developers like Quandela. Mitigating these vulnerabilities requires shifting toward standardized qualification frameworks and benchmarking protocols that balance cost, lead times, and environmental parameters. As organizations scale their assembly facilities, the financial stability of the firm depends on aligning long-term research cycles with predictable, cross-border vendor pipelines. Consequently, the presence of experienced procurement functions determines whether an organization can successfully transition from bespoke academic fabrications to repeatable commercial system deployments.
The capability architecture for this role type centers on synchronizing deep engineering specifications with international supply chain compliance mechanisms. Mastery of the procurement life cycle within high-compute environments is essential for ensuring that direct sourcing activities optimize technical performance parameters such as signal integrity and thermal tolerances in microelectronics. This requires an advanced understanding of the interface points between hardware engineering teams and global component manufacturers, facilitating the conversion of experimental designs into standardized manufacturing instructions.
These capabilities are fundamental to the throughput of hardware organizations, as they enable the parallelization of product development alongside proactive material forecasting. By establishing formalized vendor risk assessments, this function provides the operational leverage necessary to stabilize capital allocation across complex multi-year roadmaps. Furthermore, the capacity to manage strict quality and compliance criteria ensures that all incoming physical infrastructure supports the broader systems engineering objectives. This rigorous cross-functional alignment reduces iteration friction and builds the foundational stability required for predictable hardware manufacturing. - Accelerates the deterministic scaling of advanced hardware production through the creation of structured, enterprise-grade supplier ecosystems
- Mitigates systemic supply chain vulnerabilities by diversifying single-source dependencies for critical microelectronic and cryogenic components
- Facilitates the integration of complex engineering requirements into standardized, commercially viable procurement specifications
